The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially named Pakistan’s Noman Ali and New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr as the Players of the Month for October 2024, recognizing their truly exceptional performances.

Noman Ali, the Pakistani spinner, played a pivotal role in leading his team to a memorable Test series victory over England on home soil. Ali took 20 wickets at an impressive average of 13.85 during the series, which saw Pakistan come from behind to level it 1-1. His standout performances, notably, came in the second innings of both remaining Tests. In Multan, he impressively claimed a career-best eight for 46, which ultimately set up a 152-run win. Then, in Rawalpindi, he followed up with figures of three for 88 and six for 42, decisively helping Pakistan seal the series. Consequently, his stellar performances earned him a spot in the top ten of the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings for the first time.
On the women’s side, Amelia Kerr was the driving force behind New Zealand’s successful campaign in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Kerr’s all-round brilliance was evident throughout the tournament, as she made significant contributions both with the bat and ball. She scored 160 runs and took 19 wickets, including a record-breaking 15 wickets in the tournament. Her all-round performances were crucial in New Zealand’s triumph, and her efforts earned her the Player of the Tournament award.
Both Noman Ali and Amelia Kerr’s remarkable achievements have earned them well-deserved recognition as ICC Players of the Month for October 2024.
