Alyssa Healy Injured; Uncertain for India's Match in Women's T20 World Cup 2024

Australia dominated their last game against Pakistan, winning by nine wickets in just 11 overs after restricting Pakistan to 82 runs. However, injuries to Healy and Vlaeminck pose a challenge ahead of their October 13 encounter with India.

Vlaeminck, playing her first game of the tournament, dislocated her shoulder while fielding on the boundary during Pakistan’s innings. This marks the third time she has suffered such an injury. Though the physios relocated her shoulder, she didn’t participate further and may be ruled out of the tournament.

Skipper Alyssa Healy, who was batting well on 37 from 23 deliveries, pulled her hamstring while attempting a double. In visible discomfort, Healy retired hurt, and her participation in the India game remains uncertain. Both players have undergone scans, and further updates are awaited to determine the extent of their injuries.

While Australia sits comfortably at the top of the group with three consecutive wins, they could afford to rest Healy. However, for India, this October 13 match is crucial for their semi-final hopes. A loss would leave the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team relying on other match results to stay in contention.
