Bangladesh Bowled Out for 233 as Mominul’s Century Goes in Vain; Jadeja Claims 300th Test Wicket

Bangladesh were bowled out for 233 on the fourth day of the Test, with Mominul Haque remaining unbeaten on 107. Jasprit Bumrah (3-50) and Mohammed Siraj ran through the lower order after lunch, taking the last four wickets for just 28 runs. Ravindra Jadeja claimed his 300th Test wicket as Bangladesh’s hopes of gaining an advantage dwindled.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz briefly counter-attacked with three boundaries off Bumrah but was dismissed soon after, edging to slip. Bumrah struck again, removing Taijul Islam, while Siraj trapped Hasan Mahmud lbw. Jadeja then dismissed the last batter, marking his bowling milestone.

Earlier in the day, play resumed after two days of rain. India’s bowlers, led by Bumrah and Akash Deep, bowled a disciplined line, testing Mominul and Mushfiqur Rahim’s patience. Mushfiqur edged Bumrah for the first four of the day but soon misjudged an in-ducker, losing his off-stump.

Litton Das came in to maintain a left-right batting combination but fell after a brief flurry of boundaries. He mistimed a shot off Siraj, and Rohit Sharma took a sharp one-handed catch. Shakib Al Hasan followed soon, misjudging a charge against R Ashwin, with Siraj completing a one-handed catch at mid-off.

Mominul continued to fight, bringing up his half-century with some well-timed strokes. He reached his century, sweeping Jadeja to bring up his 13th Test ton, but received little support from the lower order. Despite surviving a couple of chances, Mominul was left stranded as Bangladesh’s innings folded quickly, handing India a strong position in the match.
