Kevin De Bruyne’s Fitness in Doubt for Arsenal Clash: Pep Guardiola Provides Injury Update

Manchester City’s star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne remains a major doubt for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Arsenal on Sunday.

De Bruyne sustained what appeared to be a groin injury towards the end of the first half in City’s goalless draw with Inter Milan and did not return for the second half. Manager Pep Guardiola revealed that it is still too early to determine the full extent of the injury but expressed concern that De Bruyne might miss the Arsenal match.

“I don’t have all the details yet as I haven’t spoken to the doctors,” Guardiola said. “We’ll have more information after we assess him tomorrow. It’s too soon to make any definitive statements.”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding De Bruyne, Guardiola praised his team’s performance against Inter, highlighting their strong display despite the draw. “We played really well, and I’m very pleased with how the team performed. Inter are exceptional at defending and are very dangerous on the counter. It’s early in the season, and our players will continue to improve.”

City’s

City defender Ruben Dias echoed Guardiola’s sentiments about the team’s performance and the early stage of the season. “We’ve just come back from the international break, and the pre-season had only recently ended. It’s still early, and while we had chances to score, that’s football. We’re aware of the threats from teams like Inter, who are adept at retaining the ball and striking in transitions.”

Inter Milan’s head coach Simone Inzaghi praised his players for their performance. “I congratulated the team for their outstanding effort. We knew we had to be at our best against City, and the players delivered exactly what we needed.”

As Manchester City prepares for their clash with Arsenal, they will closely monitor De Bruyne’s fitness, as his presence is crucial to City’s attacking prowess.
