The winners of the tournament will receive USD 2.34 million, marking a 134% increase from the USD 1 million Australia earned for winning the 2023 edition. The total prize pool for the tournament has also been increased to USD 7.95 million, which is 225% higher than the USD 2.45 million offered in 2023. This is the first time the ICC will award equal prize money for men’s and women’s T20 World Cups, following a decision made in June 2023.
Prize Money Comparison with Men’s T20 World Cup

India, the winners of the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, received USD 2.45 million, which is slightly more than the amount the women’s champions will earn. The slight difference is due to the larger number of matches in the men’s tournament, which features 20 teams compared to 10 in the women’s event.
Increased Payouts for Runners-up and Semi-finalists
The runners-up in the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup will earn USD 1.17 million, a significant increase from the USD 500,000 South Africa received as losing finalists in 2023. The two losing semi-finalists will each receive USD 675,000, up from USD 210,000 last year. All ten participating teams will receive at least USD 112,500.
