U.S., world, and Olympic champion Sha’Carri Richardson will compete at the Diamond League Final in Brussels, aiming to win her first Diamond League trophy. Richardson, the reigning world champion who earned silver in the 100m and gold in the 4x100m relay at the Paris 2024 Olympics, will once again race in the women’s 100m at the event on Friday, September 13. Additionally, this race marks another key moment in her remarkable season.

Richardson made her return to track competition at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich, where she narrowly defeated Olympic champion Julien Alfred in the 100m. Following that victory, she continued to demonstrate her impressive form this season. Reflecting on her performance, Richardson described it as “probably the funnest race I’ve had all season.” She added, “I took that time after the Games to come back, regroup, and be able to show you guys the Sha’Carri Richardson y’all know.”
As the fastest woman of the year in the 100m with a time of 10.74 seconds from the U.S. Olympic qualifiers, Richardson is looking to cap her season with a win at the Diamond League Final. Consequently, the Brussels event, known as the Memorial Van Damme meeting, will showcase her sprinting prowess as she competes for the prestigious Diamond League trophy.
