The Netherlands triumphed in a thrilling Paris 2024 Olympics women’s hockey final, clinching victory over the People’s Republic of China in a dramatic penalty shoot-out on Friday, August 9, at the Yves-du-Manoir Hockey Stadium. Dutch coach Paul van Ass acknowledged the close nature of the match, highlighting China’s strong defensive play. “It was a very close game,” he said. Meanwhile, China’s coach Alyson Regina Annan expressed pride in reaching the shoot-out, noting the team’s impressive progress over recent years.
