Fabio Di Giannantonio Signs Two-Year Deal with VR46 and Ducati, Set to Race on Factory GP25

Fabio Di Giannantonio has secured a significant move for the 2025 MotoGP season, signing a two-year contract directly with Ducati to race for Valentino Rossi’s VR46 team. This deal ensures Di Giannantonio will remain with VR46 until the end of the current regulations in 2026. And he will be one of only three riders on the 2025 grid to compete on the factory-spec GP25.

Despite receiving an offer from Yamaha’s new satellite team Pramac, Di Giannantonio has chosen to stay with Ducati, with whom he debuted in 2022. His impressive performances on a year-old bike have solidified his position and led to this new opportunity.

This contract represents a major turnaround for Di Giannantonio, who faced uncertainty at the end of last year when six-time champion Marc Marquez took his seat at Gresini. However, Di Giannantonio found new momentum with VR46, achieving notable results and climbing to eighth in the riders’ standings, ahead of team-mate Marco Bezzecchi.

Reflecting on the new deal, Di Giannantonio expressed his gratitude: “Securing this contract is a significant milestone for me. I am proud to continue with Ducati and the VR46 Racing Team. With Ducati’s support and having an official bike, we can build on our success and achieve great things together. I want to thank Ducati, Claudio, Gigi, Mauro, the VR46 team, and everyone who believed in me during challenging time.”

As Ducati’s sole factory-supported team from next year, VR46 will receive enhanced technical support. However, Ducati will provide only one of the latest GP25 bikes due to a downsizing strategy. The team is expected to sign current Pramac rider Franco Morbidelli to replace the Aprilia-bound Bezzecchi. With Morbidelli continuing on his GP24 bike.

Ducati Corse General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna welcomed Di Giannantonio to the team, stating:. “We are pleased to have Fabio Di Giannantonio as part of our Ducati roster for the next two years. His talent and dedication have been evident, and we believe that with the support of the VR46 Racing Team and an official Desmosedici GP, he will reach new heights. Welcome to the Ducati family, Fabio!”
