India all-rounder Hardik Pandya finally returned home after a long trip to the USA and West Indies. On July 5, he met his son Agastya for the first time since India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory in Barbados. As vice-captain, Pandya celebrated the T20 World Cup win with his family.

Pandya had a busy day on July 4, starting with an early morning arrival in New Delhi with Team India. He then met Prime Minister Narendra Modi before flying to Mumbai. In Mumbai, he experienced an emotional rollercoaster during the victory parade and felicitation ceremony.
At the Wankhede Stadium, Pandya was moved to tears during Rohit Sharma’s speech. Sharma praised Pandya for his crucial role in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory, highlighting his calm demeanor in dismissing David Miller, a highly dangerous player.
Earlier in the IPL 2024 season, Pandya faced criticism from Mumbai fans after taking over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma at MI. Having debuted for MI, he later captained GT in the 2022 and 2023 editions. His return to MI in 2024 stirred controversy and divided fans.
In the T20 World Cup 2024 final, Pandya, as vice-captain, was tasked with bowling the last over, defending 16 runs. His emotional reaction after securing a 7-run victory for India showed how much the win meant to him. He bowled like a champion, sealing the triumph for his team.
