Mumbai is gearing up for a historic victory parade following India’s triumph in the T20 World Cup 2024, with preparations underway at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The Maharashtra Cricket Association has announced free entry for fans at Gates no. 2, 3, and 4, opening at 4:00 PM sharp. The parade’s centerpiece will be India’s open-top bus, decorated in blue hues and prominently displaying a poster of India lifting the T20 World Cup trophy, boldly emblazoned with “Champions 2024.”

The enthusiasm is palpable as Mumbai prepares to celebrate this momentous occasion, thereby uniting the nation on July 4th to commemorate India’s victory. Fans are expected to fill Marine Drive and the Wankhede area, aiming to recreate the jubilant scenes from India’s historic 2007 victory parade.
Earlier, the Indian team arrived in Delhi to a festive reception after their Air India chartered plane landed from Barbados. Captain Rohit Sharma led the team to a warm reception at the airport, where exuberant supporters filled the air with chants of celebration. Afterwards, Rohit Sharma proudly displayed the World Cup trophy, marking his first appearance as India’s winning captain. The day continued with festivities at the ITC Maurya hotel in Delhi, including a grand cake-cutting ceremony to mark their triumphant return.
The upcoming victory lap in Mumbai promises to be a fitting tribute to India’s cricketing excellence. Additionally, Rohit Sharma and BCCI secretary Jay Shah are urging fans to join in the celebrations of this historic T20 World Cup victory after a 17-year wait.
