Travis Head Overtakes Suryakumar Yadav as No. 1 in ICC Men’s T20I Batter’s Rankings

Australian cricketer Travis Head has claimed the top position in the ICC Men’s T20I Batter’s rankings, surpassing India’s Suryakumar Yadav in a significant shift. Head’s standout performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, where he scored 255 runs in seven matches, including a notable 76-run innings against India, propelled him to the top spot.
Head’s recent form also made him the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament. He took over from Suryakumar, who had held the top ranking since December 2023. Despite scoring 31 against Bangladesh and a crucial 76 against India, Head leads by just two points, and Suryakumar has the opportunity to reclaim his position in upcoming matches.
The shift in rankings has led to Phil Salt, Mohammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam each dropping one place. Yashasvi Jaiswal remains the only other Indian in the top ten, holding the seventh spot with 672 rating points, despite not playing in the T20 World Cup 2024.
