Tragic news has emerged from the West Indies, where former Indian cricketer and current commentator Irfan Pathan is participating in the T20 World Cup. Pathan has suffered a personal loss as his longtime makeup artist, Fayaz Ansari, drowned in a swimming pool.
Fayaz Ansari, originally from Nagina in Bijnor, had been Irfan Pathan’s makeup artist since the early days of his cricket career. Fayaz, who ran a salon in Mumbai, joined Pathan and accompanied him on all his international trips.
Mohammad Ahmed, Fayaz Ansari’s cousin, expressed that the family is devastated by his tragic drowning. Ansari had recently married and relocated from Nagina, Bijnor to Mumbai to establish his own salon.
The tragic incident happened on Friday, June 21, while Fayaz Ansari was swimming in a pool in the West Indies. Irfan Pathan, currently handling commentary responsibilities there, is overseeing the proces to repatriate Ansari’s body to India for his final rites, expected to take three to four days.
