The incident happened in the ninth over of Sri Lanka’s innings as Nissanka was building a solid partnership with Dhananjaya de Silva. This came after the quick dismissals of Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis.
Mustafizur played a crucial role for Bangladesh, taking the key wicket of Nissanka with a well-executed delivery. Despite conceding a boundary earlier in the over, Mustafizur made a comeback and induced Nissanka to mistime his shot, resulting in a simple catch for Najmul Hossain Shanto at cover.
Following Nissanka’s dismissal, Charith Asalanka joined De Silva in the middle. At the time of writing, Sri Lanka had reached 84 runs for the loss of three wickets in 11.2 overs.
