Secluded Comfort for England’s Euros Quest:
England’s journey to Euro 2024 glory starts at the Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land, a luxurious 94 room resort in central Germany chosen by Gareth Southgate’s team for their tournament stay.
On-Site Training and Relaxation:
The resort offers the perfect blend of training and relaxation facilities. The players will have access to two full-sized pitches, a golf course (perfect for Harry Kane and other enthusiast teammates), two swimming pools, a sauna, and a games room to keep them occupied during downtime.
Focus on Nutrition, Not Distractions:
The FA is prioritizing optimal player performance. While the hotel boasts Michelin-starred restaurants, the FA will provide dedicated chefs to ensure the team receives the best possible nutrition. Additionally, the resort’s location keeps distractions at a minimum, unlike the 2006 World Cup in Germany where media attention focused heavily on players’ partners.
WAGs Stay Separate:
The FA is taking a different approach regarding the players’ partners this time around. Wives and girlfriends are expected to stay at separate hotels over 20 miles away, minimizing potential distractions and creating a more focused environment for the squad.
Euro 2024 Schedule:
This week sees England gear up with friendlies against Bosnia & Herzegovina and Iceland. Following these matches, Southgate will finalize his 26 man squad for the Euros. England’s Group C campaign kickstarts against Serbia on June 16th, followed by matches against Denmark and Slovenia. The top two teams from each group and the four best third-placed teams progress to the knockout stages.
