In a thrilling match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians’ skipper Hardik Pandya lauded the outstanding performance of Suryakumar Yadav, emphasizing the pressure he puts on bowlers and his crucial role in the team’s victory.
Suryakumar’s unbeaten century, a masterful 102 runs off just 51 deliveries, propelled Mumbai Indians to their fourth win of the season. Pandya commended Suryakumar’s ability to unsettle bowlers, creating opportunities for other batsmen by forcing loose deliveries.
“SKY was unbelievable. More than him getting runs, him putting so much pressure on bowlers that even other batters get loose balls. He breaks you. It’s sheer confidence,” Pandya expressed, emphasizing Suryakumar’s evolution as a player and his invaluable contribution to the team.

Reflecting on Suryakumar’s fitness concerns during the match, Pandya assured fans that despite some visible discomfort, Suryakumar dispelled any doubts about his readiness for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Following the win, Mumbai Indians climbed to the ninth position in the 10-team table, showcasing the importance of every victory in the competitive tournament.
Pandya also highlighted the bowling prowess of himself and teammate Piyush Chawla, who both claimed three wickets to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad to 173/8. Pandya emphasized the significance of consistency in T20 cricket and praised Chawla for his disciplined bowling performance.
“My bowling – I do the stuff I do. I like bowling good areas and see how it goes. Today it was nipping around and that worked. The wickets Piyush took are guys who can take the game away. He asked to long from the shorter side but had to adjust,” Pandya remarked, underscoring the importance of adaptability and consistency in the fast-paced format of T20 cricket.
