In anticipation of the upcoming clash against Rajasthan Royals in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s assistant coach, Simon Helmot, emphasized the team’s commitment to playing an aggressive brand of cricket.
With five victories out of nine games in the IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad currently occupies the fifth position with 10 points and a net run rate of +0.075. The forthcoming fixture against Rajasthan Royals holds significance for the Hyderabad-based franchise, especially after facing defeats in their two previous matches.
Addressing the media during the pre-match press conference, Helmot acknowledged the widespread trend among IPL teams to adopt an aggressive playing style. While expressing confidence in their approach, Helmot admitted that their recent performances have not met expectations.
“Our focus remains on playing aggressive cricket, a strategy that has proven successful for us in securing five victories. However, our recent performances have fallen short of our standards,” stated Helmot.
He reiterated the team’s belief in their abilities and emphasized the importance of making proactive decisions during crucial moments in the game to secure a win against Rajasthan.
“We are confident that by maintaining a positive mindset and making sound decisions on the field, we can emerge victorious in the upcoming match,” Helmot asserted.
Helmot also commended the Rajasthan Royals, particularly highlighting the team’s balanced squad and formidable spin bowling arsenal.
“Rajasthan has performed admirably and currently leads the points table for a reason. They boast a well-rounded team with quality spinners in their ranks. Nevertheless, we are equipped with talented spinners of our own,” Helmot remarked.
As Sunrisers Hyderabad prepares to face Rajasthan Royals, the team remains committed to their aggressive brand of cricket, aiming to secure a crucial victory and climb up the IPL standings.
