With Gresini’s future in MotoGP uncertain, Pramac has surfaced as a potential landing spot for Marc Marquez in the upcoming season.
Reports from Spain indicating Yamaha’s interest in Gresini have caused a stir in the MotoGP community. Although Gresini is currently under contract with Ducati, there are speculations that Yamaha might acquire the team in 2025.
This uncertainty surrounding Gresini has cast doubts on Marquez’s future. If Gresini aligns with Yamaha, Marquez is unlikely to follow suit.
In such a scenario, Pramac would remain with Ducati, which has been a subject of discussion for weeks regarding the vacant satellite team position within Yamaha.
Pramac’s appeal lies in its ability to offer Marquez a factory-spec bike for the 2025 season, fulfilling his desire for competitive machinery. Additionally, Marquez could potentially be paired with Fermin Aldeguer. A promising Moto2 talent slated to make his premier class debut next year.
While Gino Borsoi, Pramac’s team manager, refrained from commenting on the matter. His demeanor suggested optimism, fueling speculation about Marquez’s potential move.
Marquez himself has kept his options open, stating that “all doors were open” regarding his future. After a year of adapting to a year-old Ducati, Marquez expressed his preference for a factory bike in 2025.
Given Gresini’s inability to provide a factory bike and the possibility of their alignment with Yamaha, Pramac or the factory Ducati team appears to be the most likely destinations for Marquez next season.
