Manchester City Secures Lauren Hemp with New Three-Year Deal

Manchester City Women’s team has secured the services of England star Lauren Hemp with a new three-year contract, putting an end to speculation surrounding her future.

Hemp, 23, has been a subject of interest from various European clubs, including Barcelona. With her previous contract set to expire this summer. However, she has chosen to commit her future to City. Where she has flourished since joining from Bristol City in 2018.

With 157 appearances and 65 goals for the club, Hemp has played a pivotal role in City’s success. Contributing to two Women’s FA Cup trophies and two Women’s League Cup trophies. She has also been recognized individually, winning the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year award multiple times.

Internationally, Hemp has earned 55 caps for England, playing a key role in their Euro 2022 triumph and reaching the World Cup final last summer.

Expressing her commitment to City, Hemp stated: “This is a special team. I want to take my game to the next level, and I feel like I’m capable of doing that here. The WSL is the best league to be in.”

Head coach Taylor also emphasized Hemp’s growth and expressed excitement about continuing to work with her for the next three years.

With City currently contending for their first league title in eight years, securing Hemp’s future is seen as a significant boost to their ambitions.
