Following Paris Saint-Germain’s victory over Barcelona to secure their spot in the Champions League semi-finals, Kylian Mbappe reportedly ignited a heated altercation involving 60 people in the tunnel.
Mbappe, who played a pivotal role in PSG’s triumph with two goals, allegedly made a provocative comment in Spanish upon entering the PSG dressing room after the match. This purported remark triggered a confrontation between Mbappe and Barcelona players, escalating into a brawl that involved players, coaching staff, and security personnel.
Despite the intensity of the verbal exchange, there were no reports of physical harm or injuries. Additionally, Mbappe was seen gesturing towards Barcelona fans with enthusiasm after the final whistle. Shouting “Let’s go!” in French before heading towards PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
With their victory over Barcelona, PSG advanced to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-finals. Reflecting on the match, Barcelona manager acknowledged the emotional challenge of facing his former club but expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance.
Barcelona found themselves in a favorable position after Raphinha put them ahead, but the momentum shifted following Ronald Araujo’s red card. Xavi, Barcelona’s manager, criticized the decision to send off Araujo, stating that it significantly impacted the outcome of the tie and expressing disappointment with the referee’s call.
