Watch Wriddhiman Saha’s Surprise After Mukesh Kumar Dismisses Him Following Poor Performance

The much-awaited return of veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha to IPL 2024 in Match 32 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, unfortunately turned into a forgettable outing for the Gujarat Titans (GT).

Back in the playing XI after missing a couple of games due to injury, Saha’s comeback was short-lived. He could only manage a meagre 2 runs off 10 deliveries before his dismissal by Mukesh Kumar in the fourth over of the GT innings.

Opting to chase a target set by the Delhi Capitals, GT’s woes began early as Rishabh Pant dismissed their talismanic opener Shubman Gill in just the second over. Saha’s dismissal compounded their problems soon after.

Mukesh Kumar bowled a beauty, a swinging delivery pitched outside off stump. Saha, perhaps eager to make an impression, attempted a risky shot. The ball, however, took a sharp turn and found the bottom edge of his bat before clattering into the stumps, ending his innings with a disappointing score of 2.

GT found themselves in a precarious position at home, reeling at a precarious 30-4 within the Powerplay itself. The top-order collapse included the quick dismissals of Sai Sudharsan, David Miller, Saha, and Gill.

As of now, the Gujarat Titans have crawled to 30/4 after six overs. Khaleel Ahmed delivered a maiden over in the last over of the Powerplay, further tightening the noose around the GT batsmen. Can they weather this early storm and recover to post a competitive total? The remaining innings will be a test of their character and lower-order batting strength.
