When an unexpected downpour occurred, riders were given the opportunity to vote on whether to modify the weekends format. The majority opted for a shorter Friday practice session that wouldn’t count towards qualifying.

However, KTM’s Miller was firmly against changing the format and voiced his discontent.

In his statement to Motorsport, Miller emphasized the need to adapt to the conditions without constantly altering the weekends schedule.

Jack Miller argued that riders are accustomed to adjusting to various conditions, including rain, and believed that changes were unnecessary.

Despite Miller’s opposition, Marc Marquez topped the time sheet in the shortened second practice session on Friday. Marquez also expressed his disagreement with altering the weekend format.

Jorge Martin, who was fastest in the dry FP1 session, supported the decision to delay qualifying access until Saturday, citing the risks associated with pushing in challenging conditions.
