Before India’s fifth Test against England, captain Rohit Sharma engaged in a deep discussion with young teammate Sarfaraz Khan during a net practice session. Sarfaraz, who made a strong impression on his Test debut with scores of 62 and 68*, faced a setback in Ranchi as he fell for a duck during India’s middle-order collapse.

With the Dharamshala Test looming, Rohit Sharma took the opportunity to impart valuable insights to Sarfaraz. The 26-year-old, after his debut heroics, struggled in Ranchi, managing just 14 runs across both innings. As the Indian team prepared for the crucial Test match, Rohit’s mentorship aimed to help Sarfaraz counter the challenges of the seam-friendly Dharamshala pitch.
Despite setbacks in the series, Team India showed resilience, bouncing back from an opening Test defeat to secure a series victory. With their eyes set on a 4-1 finish to bolster their position in the WTC 2023-25 points table, the team gears up for the much-anticipated Dharamshala Test scheduled between March 7 and March 11 at the HPCA Stadium.
