Sri Lanka Includes Suspended Wanindu Hasaranga for Bangladesh Tour

Sri Lanka’s cricket board announced a 17-man T20 squad led by suspended skipper Wanindu Hasaranga for the Bangladesh tour. However, Hasaranga will miss the first two games due to his recent International Cricket Council ban for abusing an umpire during a T20 match against Afghanistan. Despite his absence in the initial matches, Hasaranga’s inclusion highlights the team’s strategic planning for the upcoming series.

The leg-break bowler’s penalty stemmed from a dispute with on-field umpire Lyndon Hannibal over a high delivery decision during the crucial moments of the match against Afghanistan. Consequently, Sri Lanka will tread carefully with his participation in the Bangladesh tour. The series will consist of three T20 matches, with the first game scheduled for March 4th, alongside three one-day internationals and two Tests, concluding on April 3rd.
