Luis Suarez has his sights set on winning the MLS Cup with Inter Miami, aiming to add more silverware to the club’s trophy cabinet after their recent success in the Leagues Cup. Suarez, who reunited with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba at Inter Miami, expressed his ambition to achieve further glory in the MLS.
After making his debut for Inter Miami alongside Messi, Busquets, and Alba in a 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake, Suarez emphasized the importance of winning at home and highlighted the team’s shared desire to secure the MLS Cup title, which has eluded the club thus far.

Suarez acknowledged the challenge ahead but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to compete for the championship, citing their collective determination and the recent triumph in the Leagues Cup as motivating factors.
Despite the optimism surrounding Inter Miami’s star-studded lineup, manager Gerardo Martino cautioned that it would take time for Suarez and Messi to reestablish their on-field chemistry, particularly considering Suarez’s ongoing knee issues. Martino emphasized the need for more training sessions to help the duo rediscover their rhythm and synergy, reminiscent of their successful partnership at Barcelona.

Reflecting on Messi’s performance in the season opener, Martino praised his impact on the field, noting his trademark skills and vision. While acknowledging the challenge of adapting to a new environment, Martino expressed confidence in Messi’s physical condition and enthusiasm for playing.
As Inter Miami embarks on their quest for MLS glory, Suarez and Messi’s reunion adds an intriguing dimension to the team’s aspirations, with both players eager to make their mark in the American soccer landscape.
