In a commanding performance, Sri Lanka secured a resounding 155-run victory over Afghanistan in the second ODI on Sunday, establishing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Afghanistan, tasked with chasing a target of 309 to level the series, succumbed to 153 all-out within 34 overs. Leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga shone with a four-wicket haul.

Despite a promising start for Afghanistan at 128 for one in pursuit of their target, the dismissals of Rahmat Shah (54) and Ibrahim Zadran (63) led to a lack of resistance from the remaining batters. Sri Lanka owed its total of over 300 runs to an unbeaten 97 by Charith Asalanka.
The 2nd ODI of the Afghanistan in Sri Lanka series, held at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on February 11, 2024, concluded with Sri Lanka posting 308/6 in 50 overs and Afghanistan finishing at 153/10 in 33.5 overs. The comprehensive victory marked Sri Lanka’s triumph by 155 runs, securing the series.
