Pakistan Cricket Faces a Gloomy Day: Outrage Among Fans Following Series Defeat to New Zealand

After a disheartening 45-run loss in the third T20I against New Zealand, Pakistan’s cricket woes continue, extending their winless streak to seven games in international cricket. The struggle began with the change in captaincy after Babar Azam stepped down post the World Cup, resulting in six consecutive losses under different leaders. The downturn started with Babar’s final match against England in the World Cup, followed by a series sweep by Australia under the leadership of new Test captain Shan Masood.

The newly appointed T20I skipper, Shaheen Afridi, is now facing a challenging task with three consecutive losses. Additionally, there is the looming threat of a 5-0 series sweep as two games remain in Christchurch.

Disappointed fans took to social media to express their frustration after the team’s prolonged poor performance.

In the 3rd T20I, Finn Allen’s remarkable 137-run innings powered New Zealand to a convincing 45-run victory. Consequently, with this win, the Kiwis secured an insurmountable lead in the five-match T20 series against Pakistan.

Opting to field first after winning the toss did not work in Pakistan’s favor. Consequently, they struggled to contain New Zealand’s aggressive run rate. Finn Allen’s exceptional knock, scoring 137 runs from 62 balls, raised questions about Shaheen Afridi’s decision to bowl.

New Zealand posted a formidable total of 225/7, and despite Pakistan’s efforts, they were restricted to 179/7, sealing another defeat for the struggling team.
