Johnny Walker, after suffering a knockout loss to Magomed Ankalaev in the UFC Vegas 84 main event. Shared his reflections on the defeat and expressed his hope for Ankalaev’s success in pursuing the UFC light heavyweight title.
In a social media post, Johnny Walker acknowledged the nature of the sport, stating, “We fight the best in the world, I’m one of the best in the world. I’m gonna face the best in the world.” He congratulated Ankalaev on his victory and expressed his wish for the Russian fighter to secure the title. Alex Pereira, another Brazilian, is the current UFC light heavyweight champion.
Despite the setback, Walker assured fans that he is feeling good physically, mentioning only a minor scratch on his nose from the fight. He plans to review the bout to analyze his mistakes and make necessary improvements before his next appearance.
Walker, who trains at SBG Ireland, emphasized his commitment to continuous improvement, stating, “I’m gonna keep grinding, keep going forward and keep going upward. Thank everybody for the support. I’m gonna take a few days off and come back to the gym, come back better.”
The defeat at UFC Vegas-84 ended Walker’s three-fight winning streak, with victories over Ion Cutelaba, Paul Craig, and Anthony Smith. His octagon record now stands at 7-5 with one no-contest.
