New Zealand Names Andre Adams as Bowling Coach for the T20I Series Against Pakistan.

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has appointed former fast bowler Andre Adams as the bowling coach for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Pakistan. The 48-year-old, joining the coaching staff alongside Gary Stead and Luke Ronchi, will commence his role in Auckland on Wednesday, January 10.

Andre Adams, who played in one Test, 42 ODIs, and four T20Is between 2001 and 2005, securing a total of 62 international wickets, brings a wealth of experience. Prior to this role, he had coaching positions at Nottinghamshire, Hampshire, and Essex before stepping down in 2015.

Having contributed to Mitchell Starc’s resurgence with New South Wales in 2019, Adams also worked with the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL) and aided in the development of Lockie Ferguson while working with Auckland’s domestic side.

The New Zealand T20I squad includes Kane Williamson (c), Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Josh Clarkson, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee.

Andre Adams takes on the role temporarily, filling in for Shane Jurgensen, who left his position as New Zealand’s bowling coach after the 2023 ODI World Cup. The Kiwis enter the T20I series following a successful away ODI series against Bangladesh and a drawn T20I series at home. In contrast, Pakistan faced a challenging Test series in Australia, suffering a 3-0 whitewash.

The first T20I of the series kicks off in Auckland, followed by matches in Hamilton, Dunedin, and Christchurch.
